Now, this is real. I am officially employed. Working as a management trainee in a F&B company that deals with trading of dairy product and palm oil. Some you guys might have known, since I frequently update my status on Facebook and Twitter.
Well, how is the "official" work life sounds like ? Don't get me wrong. It's not like I haven't work before. However, this time I am working for other people - all are complete strangers to me. Is it fun ? Well, that depends on how you want me to judge my working "experience" so far.
I choose this company because it is situated quite near to my home and more importantly, I feel they have the potential to expand (they definitely have with revenue over hundred of millions per year). Best of all, they have a really nice HR manager and GM that is really friendly that manage to persuade me to join them. At least, I manage to get through this feel day, because of them. Hahaha.
My job scope ? Haha. Well, I am supposed to be based in Kapar, Klang - one of our factory is located there. As a management trainee, I should learn production work, planning and purchase, some basic marketing and sales and more importantly, to improve my leadership skill as to replace aging managers when they retire. But, the GM feel that since I live quite near to him and I have the passion for production, instead of putting me at Kapar for 24/5, he ask me to stay at Kepong and work at HQ (yeah, their HQ is at Kepong !). My job responsibilities is to assist him in his project - KPI stuff, continuous improvement and bla bla. Other than that, I also have to frequent Kapar factory to get my "supposed" training from the manager there.
Well, it is not a big MNC (yeah yeah, its always my dream to climb the corporate ladder), but well, it's a good chance since they expect something high from me and I felt I am going to learn alot from following the GM around. Well, indeed, I did not misjudge my decision.
The first day at work, I was put into SAP (System, Application and Product - a Germany software that is very popular for business nowdays) team. I was required to adminstrate the SAP of the company, solve any issue and learn how to manipulate the software to benefit the company. Next, I was required to accompany my boss to meet vendors and inspection at factories. Finally, I will be helping my boss on his project in improving the company performance especially the palm oil line.
Now, seriously I miss holiday a lot ! Sorry because I couldn't keep updating the blog as frequently as I could anymore. However, I should be having more free time after these 2 days. Then I will blog more k ? Hahahaha. Till then, Tata !
